Ellen Sprogo Topelmann
The Hanseatic city of Hamburg, Germany was the birthplace of Ellen Sprogo-Topelmann, the artist who says "I paint what makes me happy." Together with her husband Karsten, they've owned and operated the Hanseatic Art Gallery in Ephraim, Door County, WI, since 1972. "I paint little people," Ellen Sprogo-Topelmann explains, "because they remind me of Germany and the old romantic times."
